Smile :)

Happy Saturday!
Today all the My Time Made Easy girls will be sharing cards made with the new sets that are now available....Can you believe it is now May 1st? Wow! This year is whipping by! I'm so looking forward to summer!
I wanted to make a CAS card that was more masculine. This new October Afternoon DP is perfect for it!
The sentiment comes from the Sensational Sentiments set.
I stamped it in Real Red on the kraft coloured couture cardstock.
I can't wait to get home from work today and get busy making more cards and maybe even a couple of 3D projects using the newest templates! Be sure to stop by tomorrow for more goodies!
BUT before you go....visit the girls!

Cuttlebug Blog Challenge #3

The Cuttlebug Blog has challenges designed for beginning Cuttlebuggers which I am. I don't even own a Cuttlebug, nonetheless with a borrowed machine and folder, I made this card. The link for the challenge is here.

I wanted to make a different type of flower. I used lace to make the petals and brads to make the tiny flowers. The Cuttlebug folder is Spots and Dots and the Stamp is made by Fiskars. The ribbon is made by Bazzill. I bought it at Archivers in the $1.50 section (so wish I lived closer to an Archivers...)

I weakened!

It was a beautiful day yesterday, sunny, bright blue sky and I weakened.
Not only did I go to one garden center but 2.

Spent the morning walking thru the greenhouses

huge blossom

Love the bank of primroses.

geraniums, baskets hanging, vinca and grasses.

Kept telling myself to restrain from buying the place out .

Oh my, it was so hard.

and the open air garden filled with spring blooms from
bleeding heart
ornamental pear
Daphne and azalea

many colours of evergreen
Rose tree of china
Aisles and aisles I strolled drooling over the many perennials........this one was a show stopper. Salvia argentia;
Some pretty English daisies.
Did I buy ?
Of course and will post my " 3" only purchases tomorrow.

You are fabulous!

Today I have another My Time Made Easy sneak peek to share with you!
Sensational Stems and Sensational Sentiments are a MUST have in my opinion ;)
I've paired these stamps up with some fun October Afternoon Fly a Kite. The images were stamped in Old Olive and Real Red. The flower centers were white pearls but I coloured them with a Y21 Copic. Before removing the image from the nestie I sponged on some Soft Sky ink.
Stamps: Sensational Stems, Sensational Sentiments; Cardstock: Couture Kraft, So Saffron, Cream, OA Fly a Kite DP; Inks: Old Olive, Real Red, Soft Sky; Accessories: Nesties, Ribbon, Border Punch, Pearls, Copics, Dimensionals

Hi, it's me...and Sending You Sunshine

Good Afternoon!
I wanted to share a couple of challenge cards that I made.
This first one uses the SCS sketch from yesterday and the adorable Heart Stripes girl from MFT.
This second one was made for today's WT challenge of chipboard crazy. I used a plain mini scroll that I left unfinished to match the kraft cardstock from Couture.
The stamps are of some sneak peeks from My Time Made Easy.
Here I stamped the Sending You Sunshine in Summer Sun from the Sensational Sentiments. The little flowers and stripe are from Paper Pattern Pieces. I stamped those in White craft ink.
Thanks for stopping by this afternoon! Have a wonderful Thursday!

LRW # 26

Little Red Wagon's challenge this week is a sympathy card.

I have cuttlebugged the background , embossed and water inked the rose, used a nestability for the frame. My saying is askew when I took the photo, darn it! Will fix that.

Work = no crafting...

I had a bust day at work today. Ended up being in charge - ugh! not part of the plan, but it went OK. I brought my new SU summer mini, and was planning to look at it. No time - not even an extra minute to look at my new mini :(

Hopefully tomorrow night I will be able to get some work done on the invites for my in-laws party. Should really get them to my SIL by Sunday. Really, my 4 days on mean I have no hope of crafting. On the plus side, I went for a run after work.

Cricutters Anonymous picnic challenge

I wanted to get this layout in before the deadline - in a few hours. The challenge has been issued by Cricutters Anonymous I don't even have the picture yet as it is waiting for me at the photo lab. The picture is of a of my children and their friends sitting on a picnic blanket at a nearby park and they are all almost looking at the camera. This was a potluck picnic to celebrate the end of summer 2008 and the beginning of school the next day!

I learnt something while making this layout. I wanted to make the letters funky by using lower case letters with the real dial size on not really thinking that this would affect the shadow feature. The end result is wonky letters but I left them that way (now they are really funky).

The slide and monkey bars are from the Locker Talk cartridge. I cut them with DCWV Metallic paper. The sun and clouds are from Hello Kitty. The letters are Cuttin Up and the grass is from the Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge.

Let's Do Coffee!

Ok I admit I'm not much of a coffee drinker. I mean I have my one and occasionally two cups in the morning at home(if we have flavoured creamer). I rarely have any after that. The girls at work always do a Tim Horton's run each morning around 10 am...lol and they always ask but I always say, No thank you :)
That didn't stop me from wanting this cute new Let's Do Coffee set from Taylored Expressions though...ha!
My order arrived on Tuesday and I wasn't home for more than 10 minutes when I decided I HAD to go make something using the new goodies! Originally I had intended on using a card kit that I purchased but decided to go with some fun October Afternoon Fly a Kite DP.
I tried the hair colouring technique that I learned from Sherrie at the copics class. I think I'm starting to get the highlighting thing going! Yeah! Remember practice ;)
The layout comes from Mercy's sketch this week.
Here is a shot of the inside:
Stamps: Let's Do Coffee; Cardstock: Choc Chip, Cameo Coral, Choice Buttercream, Fly a Kite DP; Inks: Memento Black; Accessories: Copics, Nesties, Wavy Border Punch, Ribbon, Circle Punches, White Gel Pen, Dimensionals

MTME sneak peeks begin!

Hello!
I'm so excited that the My Time Made Easy Sneak Peeks are beginning today! Lauren has so many wonderful sets and templates coming!!
My first little 4 x 4 card uses a new set called Lunch Box Love Notes. This set is huge! It has 25 images including some very sweet sentiments.
I thought it would be cute to include this in Chloe's lunch bag on a day when she has a big exam or something ;)
My next little project is a lunch bag tag!
How fun would this be to attach to your child's lunch kit?
Here I have used the Lunch Box Love Notes Additions along with the original set.
I'm really looking forward to seeing what the MTME girls have made!
Be sure to stop by their blogs:
Thanks for stopping by today~!

2 days in a row!!

So, I am pretty proud of myself. Blogging 2 days in a row. Yay me!! Today was calm and mostly quiet. DD and I went to visit an old friend and her new baby. We even found a dress for me to wear to my inlaws 50th anniv. All in all a success... no crafting though, and I still have 15 more invites to do for the anniversary... how do I get myself into these things?? I guess I need to get cracking.

Today I am sharing some money holders I mad at Christmas time. Only one actually held mosey, the other 2 held tickets and a gift card. They were fun and very easy to make. I found a tutorial on You Tube created by a SU demo named Dawn. It was really easy to follow! The stamps are SU on all of them, and the paper is CTMH.

Back to work in the morning - ugh!!

4 babies!

My sister Donna is a Grandmother again;
this time to quads!

Momma Duck made a nest right beside my sisters front step. Donna's city home is located near a forested pond area. Donna was very surprised several weeks ago when arriving home from work ; walking up to the front door ; she was loudly squawked at by Momma duck.Looking for the nest, it was in an euonymus bush edging the front step . Over the weeks Keith and Donna then watched and waited for the birth of the babies.
Wonder what Donna has named them?
Huey, Dewey ,Louie and Donald is my suggestion.

Hello Mary and Friends

Hello!
This is another stamp that I have had sitting on my table since CHA in January. I know it's a shame! It's a really cute set too! I coloured her hair like I learned from Sherrie a couple of weeks ago at the copics class. I think it turned out pretty good! It's fun to play and practice!
Lately I have noticed a lot of people doing this sort of ribbon treatment....so I had to try! LOL!
I like the effect but it's a little extra work ha!
Stamps: Mary and Friends from WoodwareUSA; Cardstock: Kraft, Choc chip, So saffron, White, DP; Inks: Memento black; Accessories: Copics, Nesties, Ribbon, Paper piercer, Border Punch, Dimensionals
Thanks for stopping by today! Please come back tomorrow when I will share my first MTME sneak peek with you!!
Have a WONDERFUL day!

April?? Seriously?

Really?? April? I may be the worst blogger in the world. 3 months between posts, and for no reason!! What can you do? I have bought/ recieved some wonderful crafting things. I got some great cartridges, and a new scoring board - martha stewart... love it so far! It has scor marks EVERY 8th of an inch... awesome! Though a bit dizzying, honestly :)

My sons 8th birthday was yesterday, all related pics are still on my camera, so None to show today. Instead I will post a few pics from by daughters 4th birthday, back in February. These were all quick and fun projects to make - well except for the cake, we won't talk about that ;)

The little goody bags using Hello Kitty Greetings.

The Abby Cadabby birthday cake I made - we won't discuss how much work was involved :)

The inside of the card I made for DD - stamps from CTMH...

The front of the card I made for DD - I love Hello Kitty Greetings!! The stamp is also from CTMH - can't remember what it's called, but it's a great stamp set with cupcakes. I love it!!
So, that's it for today. I'll try to be back again soo, to post some more things that I have created.

Rainy Sunday

Sunday was a rainy day.
Happy to see the moisture. This spring has been lovely, warm, sunny but dry. Gardens needed the rain in fact this Monday morning, the garden looks much greener.
I swear the Rhubarb has grown a foot.
The rain did not stop me from getting outside even for a few minutes.
For the first time the bird bath is filled with water.

" Here Birdie, time for a bath!"
Installed a shepherd's hook and hung my wind chimes.

The Bells of Vienna chimes were given as a Christmas gift by Rosanne .
The sound of these chimes is very musical. The chime is in the note of G, I think..
Okay, I do have to confess ,the weather became so windy and rainy , it made me retreat to the house and finished crocheting a lacy cap.

Even so I still was able to enjoy a flower inside; my clivia has re flowered bigger and better than last year..

All and all enjoyable Sunday, even with the rain .
