Branching Out SC274

Hello!
Spring is finally here in my neck of the woods and for two days in a row I've been able to open the windows and let the fresh spring air in the house! LOVE it! Soon I'll be sleeping with my bedroom window open....well until the birds drive me nutty with their 5 am wake up calls....lol
As much as I love the amount of sunshine with the long days we get up here, I'd prefer to not be woken up at the crack of dawn each morning by the birds nesting in the hedge outside my window....ha!
That brings me to my card for today's SC274. I decided to pull out my all time fave set from Taylored Expressions called Branching Out. I'd just received the Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety Mini deck from All That Scraps today and wanted to use it too!
Stamps: Branching Out
Paper: Kraft, Saffron, Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety DP
Ink: Memento rich cocoa
Accessories: copics, old olive ribbon, dimensionals

I have to go into work for a bit Thursday morning but then I'm coming home to stamp stamp stamp!
Thanks for stopping by!

Spoiled Rotten - Impression Obsession Week at SD!

Good Morning!
This week the Stamper's Dream Team are sharing cards/projects made with Impression Obsession images.
I used the ubber cute Spoiled Rotten along with some fun new My Mind's Eye Jack & Jill dp. I'm loving the trio packs of Prism papers that the store has. This prism paper came from the Blush Red set. I ordered a bunch of them and LOVE that I can always find something to match all the different designer papers I have ;) The image was cut out with a Spellbinders Die.
The line up this week is as follows:
Monday - Leslie , Laurie , and Becca

Tuesday - Cindy , Amy , Denise , Dawn and Michelle

Wednesday - Tosh , Silke , Cammie , Amy and Michelle

Thursday - Cindy , Leslie , Denise, Dawn and Michelle

Friday - Laurie , Silke , Tosh and Michelle
Did you notice a new face in there? Yes! Leslie Miller has joined the SD team!

Heidi MTSC67

Today is my last day as one of Mercy's Guest Designers :( I've really enjoyed the last month and I'll continue to play along each week with everyone else :)
For this week's MTSC67 I pulled out an adorable image from All That Scraps called Heidi Among the Flowers. Spring is here! Our snow is almost gone. There is just a little bit around the hedge and if I wasn't so lazy, I'd get out there and spread it around the rest of the lawn...haha!
Stop by the Muse Girls!

I'll be back this evening to announce the winner of the MTME template! I have to work all day...bummer eh?
Thanks for stopping by! Have a GREAT day!

I Give Our Friendship....

Two thumbs up!
A few days ago I stamped a bunch of images and watercoloured while watching TV. This card was made for the Featured Stamper Challenge and I cased this card here. I loved the layout and all the layers. Instead of going with a holiday theme as she did I went with a friendship theme ;) I also had to omit the sentiment tag layer because I ran out of room....lol
Oh and I watercoloured for the first time in ages!!
Stamps: Chick Flick; Cardstock: Bashful Blue, Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery, Watercolour paper, MME DP; Inks: Versafine Black; Accessories: Aqua Painter, Ribbon, Border Punch, Ticket Corner Punch, Dimensionals
Thank you to everyone who commented on my new DT position and I wish you all good luck on winning the template from the MTME store! Scroll down for that post to enter ;)

Lilies

Small things can bring such pleasure..
One of the sure signs of spring in this area is when a local treasure opens , it is an open air flower stand . This tiny stand at the side of the highway is easily missed , yet is full of delightful bouquets. One pays by the old fashioned honour system into a old tin box. Prices went up this year from a whopping $5 to $6
for this bunch, still an amazing bargain. The flowers I have picked up there last and last.
Having fresh flowers in my home is one of my pleasures.

Huttonville Craft and Antique Show

Thank-you for visiting my booth ... Missed this show? Please visit me at one of my upcoming Craft Shows

MTME DT and a give away!

Happy Sunday Girls!
I've been keeping a little secret from you and today I can spill the beans! You may have already seen Lauren's announcement on her blog but I'm joining the MTME DT starting in May! I was tickled pink when I received an email about joining her team. I admit I was a little nervous though. I'm not too much of a 3D project girl but I was offered the "card girl job" ;) That's more up my alley....haha!
Things are finally settling down again and I'm not overwhelmed with work, home and stamping. I figured by May I'd be set to go! I can't wait to get some new stamping goodies, try the digi paper and templates!!
There are a few others joining the DT too and I'm so excited!!!

Geny Cassady http://madisonavenue.typepad.com/ (she'll be a cardgirl too)

Lesa Rapp-http://paperpossibilities.blogspot.com/

Stephanie Kraft-http://handkraftedbystephanie.blogspot.com/

To celebrate Lauren is giving away a free stamp set of your choice but to enter you will need to visit her blog.
For visiting me today and sharing in my excitement of joining the MTME DT, I will be giving away a gift certificate for a template of your choice. Just leave me a comment on this thread and the winner will be announced on March 30th! Good luck!

Red Hats Luncheon

This month it was my turn to help organize the Red Hats outing. With my partner Beryl we chose The Country Homestead, for a quiche, salad lunch.. Homestead is a fully restored 19th century farmhouse located on a family farm about 10 minutes from Long Point. The homestead is set amid gardens and lawns decorated with gazebos and fountains..unfortunately in March in SW Ontario there was only a hint of the beauty in the gardens.
Luncheon or dinners are by reservation only and the least they will entertain ; parties of 4 or more....
We were greeted by this guy welcoming us in the window which more than made up for the cool spring day.

Each room had touches of Easter , this is the sitting sunroom , love all the egg garland at the windows of this gracious room.
The fireplace was roaring in the dining room , which was accentuated with exposed beams and many treasures of country life.
Love the way the egg garland is tied on the fireplace.

Accents of Easter were scattered on top of the mantle..

On tables
Under lamps;
In baskets;
Simple , lovely festive atmosphere .

Red Hats being seated.
We laughed, drank a bit of wine, played a red trivia game I found on the Internet, ate the oh so good food and topped off lunch with either lemon meringue or coconut cream pies....
One last bunny saying Goodbye on the hall table..
Now to get busy and decorate my home for Easter.

Hi, it's me...Wishing you a happy birthday

I was in need of a birthday card for a co-worker and was lucky that the Ways To Use It Challenge was to make some sort of a celebration card! Julia has been posting a WT challenge for FIVE years! Wow!
I was hoping when I got home from work Thursday that my Stamping Bella order had arrived but it hadn't :(
BUT I do have these cute PI girls from MFT to keep me happy!
I decided to play with the Flower Girl image that I got from Stampers Dream.
The inside was stamped using the Basic Birthdays set from Papertrey.
Thanks for stopping by today! Have a GREAT Friday!

Two Challenges

This week I decided to try another SOUS sketch. Here is the sketch this week. When I saw this sketch, I immediately thought it looked like a snow hill and tried to make the layout accordingly. I'm not sure crumpling the paper made it more snow-like but at least it added some dimension. I also didn't want my layout to look like Leah's (SOUS design team) because hers is also a snow layout.

This layout also qualifies for the Practical Scrappers challenges which was to use something from your stash that is over a year old. The vellum I used for this layout is at least a few years old. I bought it and then wasn't sure what to do with it.

The font I used is called Frosty (I had to use it). I snuck into a friend's SCAL.

LRW # 21

LRW's challenge this week is to use this picture
to inspire a card.
This bedroom makes me think serene and fresh .
This is the card I made, using watermark to reflect the iron bed then a patterned blue paper to add texture like the throw at the end of the bed , the layers of papers to imitate the layers of bedding , flowers to give the impression of the floral pillows and the leaves to mirror the leaves on the bedside table.

SCS Sketch#273 cards

Just a quick post as I'm exhausted from doing my inventory at work.
Both cards use the SCS sketch 273.
Stamps: MFT My Umbrella; Cardstock: Kraft, Real Red, Vanilla, MME dp; Inks: Memento black; Accessories: Copics, Nesties, Border Punch, DimensionalsStamps: MFT Maid for You(Sentiment); Cardstock: So Saffron, Real Red, Kraft, MME dp; Inks: Memento black; Accessories: SU butterfly punch, border punch, nesties, red pearls

Bright Sunny Early Spring Day!

Bright blue sky , lots of sun; oh my, how nice it looks till one steps outside. Cold and windy. Pretty but gloves and a warm coat are needed. Still I found some encouraging signs of spring.
Chives are up and growing just in time for accents on Easter dinner.

Mums made it thru the winter.

Chinese azalea is loaded with buds..so looking forward to seeing this shrub flower in April.

King Alfred Daffodils are up and budding as well.... What a joy their yellow heads in May.

Frosty Morn sedum ;
Purple Black Knight Buddelia has put on some new leaves.
Lovely day , tho the weather forecasters used that nasty 4 letter word starting with S for the weekend .
Heck ,they have been wrong before!

On the Pier

Happy Wednesday!
Well today starts the first of a three day inventory for me at work....blech! I'm not looking forward to it at all. Let's hope it goes smoothly and I'm not exhausted when I get home each night. I want to be able to stamp, right?!
Last weekend I stamped this image at Karen's house and coloured it with all her copics....she has WAY more than I do! LOL! When I got home on Sunday I put this card together using Jen's SFYTT.
Stamps: On the Pier; Cardstock: Vanilla, Kiwi Prism, WeRMemoryKeepers dp; Inks: Memento black; Accessories: Copics, Dimensionals
