Any recent (March/April 2011) AIR owners can you post your OEM firmware (Boot ROM Version and SMC Version) out of the box... without doing any UPDATES.

Well that's kinda hypocritical posting in an Apple forum. Apple tries 100x harder to prevent users from jailbreaking than Android\Manufacturers do try to prevent rooting\modding.
i agree they do seem to try harder. i dont think of it as me being hypocritical ( or maybe it is? :) ). i just hold android to a higher standard... it's supposed to be about openness... that's what i feel google intended. if i'm going to get one (which i probably will eventually) i want to be able to do what i want with it without the manufacturer/provider on my back

Saw an ABC Australia journalist in Japan reporting that because the phones are down people are using Facebook to post their status and location to let their families and friends know how they are. I assume Facebook will make some mileage out of this.

I would try both out, if possible. Some people have other macs and airs and end up using the air more because the ssd makes the experience that much nicer. Of course, you always upgrade the pro to a ssd later.
I personally would go for the pro - I'd look to possibly replace the hd with ssd at a later point, when more money is available, if the ssd is important. Also, the faster processor and additional ram will make it more future proof, in case your computing demands increase in the future.

I am selling an 8GB Apple iPhone. This iPhone was purchased as a refurb from AT&T on March 17, 2008 - less than 3 months old. I updated the warranty with Apple and it now reads:
iPhone
Serial #:YM724FK0***
United States
Limited Warranty
2. Warranty information about your iPhone
Our records indicate that your product is covered under Apple's Limited Warranty which is estimated to expire on March 17, 2009.
Your product is eligible for complimentary phone support which is estimated to expire on March 21, 2010.
The iPhone is in perfect working condition - there is some light scratching on the back of the phone, and an extremely small scratch on the upper-right quadrant of the front screen which is about 2mm long (see pictures). You can only see that scratch in certain lighting conditions - usually only when there is a white background on the phone.
Due to these slight scratches, I am willing to let it go for $300 + your method of shipping to wherever you may be. These phones have been moving on eBay for upwards of $600 in the past few days - they are coming down a bit now, but this is still a substantial savings.
Included with the iPhone is everything that came with the AT&T Refurb box, as well as a Power Support Crystal Film Set [not pictured]. There is one left - the first one got dirty and I had to scrap it, but the other one is brand new.
* 8GB iPhone
* Stereo Headset with mic
* Dock (still in original wrapping)
* Dock Connector to USB 2.0 Cable
* USB Power Adapter
* Power Support Crystal Film Set
On the off-chance that you live in Cleveland, I am willing to meet in person so you can check out the iPhone and pay in person. I work downtown in the warehouse district, so meeting in that area would be ideal.
eBay: hoehnen3 (196+ 100% positive)
heatware: mxpiazza (7 positive)
Also sold, bought and traded with many people on these forums.
Please don't troll, hijack, etc - post, PM or email if you are interested, if not, thanks for your time.

if you want to make your menubar black like that use this link (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MWWqKLti8eg). it's the link that i used. there are a lot of warnings and what not but it worked fine for me. just make sure you back up your files.
there are also a lot of different vids on the side of that page.
as for the dock read THIS (http://forums.macrumors.com/showpost.php?p=11405624&postcount=195) post that i made a couple days ago.
Thank you very much! I hope this runs on 10.6 as well. Well, lets see. :D

If I understand you correctly, you don't need a hack. Once you've highlighted the items you want to delete, hit Option-Shift-Delete. You will then get a requester which says something like, "Are you sure you want to permanently delete these items?" And away you go. :)
Hmm... that didn't work for me - when I tried to highlight a subset of files and hit Option-Shift-Delete, nothing happened (this is Panther 10.3.7 BTW). In fact I tried just about every combo of shift/ctrl/option/alt + del with no results.
But assuming I can find the right key combo to delete a subset of highlighted Trash files, I still have the problem of selecting the files based on the date I moved them to the trash, as opposed to create/modified date. I'm still converting over from the Windows world, but one nice feature of the Recycle Bin is the "Date Deleted" column. With that column, I can just open the Recycle Bin, sort by date deleted and whack what I want.
Thanks,
Sean

Is it just me, or did you just register to BUMP THIS THREAD and do some advertising for that site? How lame... :rolleyes:
Actually, it is just you. ;) Granted he is a newbie, but he is actually one of our past clients who really liked the work we did for him. And being that he is a bit computer savvy, and I asked him to jump on the fourms and give us plug if he wanted to. Sorry for the misconception. :D

this isn't too difficult to do, there are many ways of doing it.
The way i would do it is with airport expresses and small hi-fi/speaker systems. If you put an airport express into each room they are all capable of receiving a steam from the imac. You then plug the airport express into a hi-fi which will give you control over the volume in each room.
In the waiting room you would also have the same setup and also plug the tv audio output into the hi-fi, then someone can choose the tv or the airport express as the source.
Airports only technically stream from itunes but you can buy a cheep app called airfoil which will stream music from any program i.e pandora.

Hi
Don't know if this will be of help but I spent ages looking for a way to add subtitles to iTunes content that my deaf family members buy.
I open the movie file up in subler, the file opens fine but you can't access the movie or audio parts as they are protected but you can add a .srt file into the file.
It only takes a couple of seconds and allows them to view subtitles in iTunes but it does however make the file unplayable in QuickTime x for some reason.

Do you have the box?
It's always worth more with the box - even though it's the Apple White Refurb (or Repair Replacement) box...
Even the Apple Replacement and Refurb boxes are cool...
(I have the boxes for a Refurbished iPhone as well as a NEW Replacement iPhone - an iPhone box that holds only the iPhone without any accessories).

HOW much?
I got it for $185, so I think $100 sounds pretty fair.

If you've see the keynote stream, then you'll of come across the part where Steve asked some of his employees (marketing, engineer etc..) to stand up and receive a round of applause.
I thought this was quite a nice gesture and it's the first time I have seen this from them.
Good things!! :claps:

Hi
Sorry this is a rookie problem
When I upload my site using dw it uses the original images and file locations rather than the server relative addresses like this :
<title>Untitled Document</title>
<link href="file:///Macintosh HD/Users/David/commissions/currentwork/finals for colin debug/htmldream/style.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css">
<script type="text/JavaScript">
<!--
Is there a preference or something I should be pressing ??
Thanks

hi david
I made similar mistakes when I first started using dreamweaver, and it was all because I neglected to read the manual...
Dreamweaver works best when you plan your site from the ground up, in other words you really need to have your site structure fairly sorted before you start working. What you need to do is use the site manager- it's in the 'Files' tab on the right hand side of the screen. Click the combo box on the left and select 'manage sites'. You will then be presented with a wizard that helps you set up your site. You should already know what your root folder is, your default images folder etc. Once you've got all this set up, dreamweaver knows where all the images and links contained in your site should point to, and if they don't match, or your try to link to an image contained outside of the root of your site, it will tell you and ask if you want to move into the correct folder.
This is a bit of a vague explanation because you're better off reading the help files to be honest. I know it's boring but the key to successful and problem-free web design is organisation.
Hope this is some help.

I had just got back from holiday a few days earlier and was relaxing at home, waiting to go back to Uni.
I had been watching TV in the background when they had the breaking news come up about a plane crashing into one of the 2 towers. I first thought how is it possible a pilot can crash into buildings that big, especially with all the warning systems they have. But when they showed the second plane go in, I realised it must be Islamic terrorists.

it happened on my 13" MBP when using it with and HDTV with a HDMI-MiniDP adapter. when that happens i usually try shift control eject to put the display in 'sleep' and wake it back up without putting the machine to sleep and that helps too atleast in my situation. hopefully might be another alternative tip that works.
My Mac never sleeps, but I do experience the static problem when the Mac causes the displays to sleep. Simply turning the display off then back on fixes it without having to do anything with the Mac.
