Paper Smooches - Happy Barkday

I couldn't resist the cute stamps by Kim Hughes and had to order some from Paper Smooches a couple of weeks ago.
This set is called Birthday Buddies.
I stamped the adorable puppy on Vintage Cream PTI and coloured with Copics.
I added some white gel pen to the hat and gelly roll glaze pen to the eye.
Pretty simple card.
Thanks for stopping by today!
Have a wonderful day!

A New Fav.

Haven't    posting about a  favourite item for a while  but this new to me product I have  fallen in love with..
I usually  make my own salad dressings,  a simple lemon vinaigrette  is a standby but I still have  commercial brands in the fridge too. For those lazy days....

Kraft Mandarin Orange with sesame seed has won me over  , excellent orange flavour  with a hint of sesame , real sesame seeds .  This is a keeper.

I love Monday!
Not for work reasons but because there is new Mojo sketch posted each week!
My card below was made using the Mojo184 sketch.

Creative Team Call!

I've decided to start selling SVG kits! Don't worry, I'll still maintain my freebies here and continue to give away designs, but I'm beginning to assemble more specific svg kits and want to distribute them at a reasonable cost. So, I'm looking for two or three creative people who would like to receive each month's designs for free, then post their creations! Here's a sneak peak of one of the first svg kits, called "Fancy Shapes":

Creative Team Requirements:

1. You will receive all my month's designs for free, and in return you will be expected to create at least two projects. These can be layouts, cards, minibooks, or any other paper project.

2. If you have a blog, I'd like you to post on your blog with a link to my online store and blog, as well as post to any messageboard you are a member of. You will be asked to post to one particular MB, to be determined later. If you don't have a blog, that's okay: just post on more messageboards!

3. High quality photos are important!

4. Please don't share the files. They are for your own personal use.

5. If you would like something in particular designed, I'll do my best to accomodate you.

6. This is a 6 month term, to last end-April to end-October.

To apply:
Please email me at lesleyanne_b@hotmail.com with your name, blog address, messageboards you follow, any other DTs you are a part of, and attach or link to 3-4 of your favorite projects.

I am considering all types of paper artists who love svgs! All experience levels are encouraged to apply!

Digi Monday with Paper Playtime

It is Digi Monday over at Paper Playtime! We have some amzing inspiration and wonderful sponsors with week, with LOTS of prizes to be won, so be sure to come and play with us. Here is what I came up with for today's challenge:

This beautiful Iris is from Doodle Pantry. I decided to use the precolored image, which I thought was stunning, and I also (for the first time ever) used digi paper, which matches this set. Isn't it beautiful? The stamps is from Stampin Up and the paper is just from my scrap box. The ribbon is from Michaels.

I must say, I LOVED using the pre-colored image. It was so easy and so beautiful, and still allowed me to be creative with the card. It was so fun to use. I will definately be using the pre-colored images again!

So come over to Paper Playtime, see what all the other Queens came up with, and play along with us, for the chance to win lots of great prizes :)

Spring is Coming!

... but not to Calgary, Alberta! It's been snowing here, and is still snowing. It's going to be a late spring! But for My Sheri Crafts challenge this week, I made a spring LO and a new idea to share.

The LO:

I'm beginning to try to use my stash in more creative ways, and so many of my LOs have my old alpha stickers on them and the Jolee embellishments. I still like using them, but haven't bought any in years! Time to use them up!

I love sewing on LOs:

Supplies:
Paper: SEI Poppy Paper pad
Embellishment: Ladybug by Jolee's by You
Alpha Stickers: Me & My Big Ideas "mambi minis"; Martha Stewart "Holly Alphabet"
Journal tag: Deja Views "Love journal sticker tablet"

And a quick tutorial:

I got these MS felt alphas after Christmas for super-cheap at Michael's, but I couldn't really think of how to use them. There's not enough to make a big title, and they seem pretty limiting. But, after a close look, I realized that I could probably slice the holly off them!

Using a sharp exacto knife, slide it under the holly and gently slice through the top layer of the underlying felt:

Here it is, next to an unchanged letter. Looks like it never had anything there!

And the completed title. I've very happy with the outcome! And, happy to use those letters in a different way!

Earth Hour

Will you be turning off your lights for an hour tonight?
I will.

So GMO's...

Genetically modified organisms (GM foods) are unfortunately a common part of life now days. They're actually listed as pesticides with the Environmental Protection Agency, and fail to meet allergy health screening through World Health Organizations standards. It's not like it would say GM on the label, actually natural foods that are not GM'd will usually say so on the label. Should it not be the reverse? Governments and especially biotech companies are good at keeping information away from the mainstream, and further from our awareness. So we wanted to share just a few FACTS:
-when genetically modified soy flour was given to female rats, the majority of their babies died within 3 weeks and for those that did survive, they were smaller and suffered from fertility problems. Male rats experienced testicular discoloration and damaged sperm cells, therefore fewer offspring, and smaller babies. Farmers themselves have commonly reported fertility issues with their livestock.
Facts aside, the US infant mortality rate and infertility are all on the rise. Could there be a correlation between the food we're consuming and these sad results?

Did you know that when insects bite GM corn or cotton, they basically get a bite of toxins which splits open their stomach's and they die. We need to be conscious of where our food is coming from and things like allergy tests confirm that some people react to GM soy, but not to non-GM soy. Interesting.

Spring touches

It is officially spring, weather wise more like winter. Needed a  few touches of spring . With Easter  not that far  away thought I would let  some bunnies loose........
Had 4 bunny ornaments placed them on a glass candle stand.

In another  jar the start of my collection of special eggs....

Decorated the buffet!

Yes I do use some silk flowers tho I prefer fresh... still the wreath suits the   setting.
These touches of Easter and spring  certainly brighten  the home......

Miss You Lots

We are getting closer to the weekend!
Thank goodness!
Our weather has been crazy this week with snow each night but then melts each day....makes for a messy drive...ugh yuck.
I made this card last Sunday using Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch #109.
I pulled out one of my old CC Designs stamps from All That Scraps.
This one is Swiss Pixie Heidi. Isn't she adorable?! She's also available in digi.

Pink, White and Green

If you are looking for my Cooking with Cricut project, click HERE.

Spring is in the air! The weather in Nova Scotia is slowly turning away from winter - though it is trying to hang on. Over at Cricut Cardz Challenge we have a color challenge celebrating spring's arrival. Make a card, using any cartridge, and use white, pink and green only. Here is what I came up with:

I have not cut much from Rock Princess, but I saw this rose, and decided to give it a try, it seemed very springy! I cut it at 3 inches, though looking at the finished card, I wish I have cut it a bit bigger. The stamp is from SU and the paper is also mostly SU, though the green background is from my stash. I used my Threading Waters Fiskars punch and the pink pearls are from my stash.

Hop on over to CCC, see what DT#2 came up with, and play along with us.

Some challenges:
Die Cutting Divas - spring is on the way
Papertake Weekly - It's a mom thing
Kreative Kraft Friends - spring
Die Cut Dreams - mother's day
Oooh La La Creations - mothers day
Stamping with the Dragon - bring on spring

In Like a Lion...

And out like a lamb. March is coming to an end, finally! The challenge today at Cooking with Cricut is to create a project with either a lion or a lamb - or both. Here is what I came up with:

Hmm... I will have to fix the crooked ribbon on this :) The lamb is from Create a Critter, cut at 2.5 inches. The stamp is from Scrappy Moms Amusing Animals set. The paper is all Close to my Heart, except the base, which is SU. I actually made 4 of these, I need to start building up my stash, and making some card sets for teacher and baby sitter gifts.

Come play with us at CWC I would love to see what you all come up with!

Some Challenges:
2 Sisters - furry friends
Wee Memories - cute and cuddly
Card Makin' Mamas - animals
Crafty Sentiments - animals
