One of my staff (well old staff) will be celebrating her 21st birthday tomorrow and even though I'm no longer her department manager, I wanted to make her a card anyway!
I used Jen's SFYTT for my layout.
Stamps are from the Unity July KOTM that just arrived on Friday!
Stamps: July KOTM; Cardstock: White, Real Red, Aqua Mist, MME dp; Inks: Black, Blue; Accessories: Sponges, Nesties, Silver Brads, Dimensionals, Yellow Stickles

Back garden flowers.
Tall African Marigolds started from seed late this spring are now starting to flower. They make a nice combo with the blue Lily of the Nile.
Stargazer lilies are starting to flower, they are not as tall as I expected but this is the first year.
Kong Sunflowers are just started to show some colour and set seed for the birds , it has made a height of 10 feet. which makes a nice friendly privacy hedge in my little back yard , the only thing is the flower heads are smallish...

Elmo loves you...
So if this has worked properly, I am currently at work. Hopefully in the midst of a quiet 12 hour shift in the IMCU. I am not very techno savvy, so chances are, it hasn't :)
My little nephew turned 3 this past week. He adores elmo!! I decided to make him a shape card. He LOVED it - which was the whole point :)
I welded this puppy together on my Gypsy. I love her so much... I used Sesame Street Friends cartridge and a mix of paper - StampinUp and Creative memories. Inside I used a My Pink Stamper stamp, it says "Happy Happy Birthday" I do love her stamps. Isn't he adorable?
That's it for today, hopefully in the next few days I will be able to do some more challenges. I am loving them, and am starting to get a few Chrisymas cards done. Tomorrow is a stat holiday in Nova Scotia - I have to work again, but at least I will make some extra money. Hope every one is enjoying their weekend :)

Paper playtime challenge #9
Another day, another challenge. Paper Playtime is doing a BBQ challenge this week. This was a bit of a challenge for me, until I remember I had this great stamp set from MFT - here is what I came up with:
The paper is StampinUp and the ink is Memento and Stampin Up. I used my Prismacolor pencils and baby oil. This is a really new technique to me - I have only used it 3 or 4 times, and all in the past few weeks. I'm not thrilled with the coloring this time - I think I maybe didn't color enough - so I was trying to blend color that wasn't really there? I don't know. The red background paper is actually BBQ paper - hard to see - but there are forks and knives and a spatual on it in a slightly lighter red. I found it in my scrapbox, it's been there for about 2 years.
I am going to try something different for tomorrow's post. I am working my second of 4 twelve hour shifts tomorrow, and will not have the time to finish a project tomorrow, like I did tonight. I am going to try to save a post, so all I have to do tomorrow is publish it. We'll see how it works :)
Thanks for dropping by, hope you're all having a great weekend!

It Started With a Kiss....
And ended like this!
LOL this sentiment from Baby Bump just cracks me up!
I was so excited when a friend recently told me she was expecting!!! It's still a secret for now and I feel so lucky that she trusted me with it :)
I thought this card might make her laugh too!
Here is an inside shot as well.

I'm a Guest Designer!!
Can you believe it?? Last week my little cowboy girl card was chosen at Raise the Bar challnege. That meant I was asked to be a guest designer for tis week's challenge. The challenge this week is a "sticky situation" which meant we had to use a sticker on our card!! GASP! I haven't used a sticker in forever!!
It was a real challenge for me to come up with something, but eventually I came up with 2 submissions (after running to my LSS for help). here is what I came up with:
This card uses Peel Off stickers and Glitter Ritz. I had never used either item before. Man! That glitter ritz gets every where!! I cut the ornaments out by hand, and pop dotted them. the "joy" is from Joys of the Season (I think)
So i designed and welded this little baby on my Gypsy. Using George and Create a Critter. The Stickers I used as accents are Imaginisce "sticker glass". The paper for both is mostly Stampin Up, though some from my scrap boxes.
I have to be honest, if I hadn't been chosen as a guest designer this week, I would probably not have participated. This was way outside the box for me. But on the whole, I am happy with the results. Anyway, thanks for looking!

The Future
Tomorrow marks the last day in my current position at work. I have mixed feelings about leaving but I'm moving onto another job within the company next week(still have that interview on Wednesday for another position too).
I really wanted to make something quick for my staff to show them that I appreciate all the support and hard work they have given me over the past year.
These are just little notepads that I covered and added a couple of embellishments. I really ♥ this sentiment from the Verve set called Floral Whimsy.
Pattern paper all comes from the Cosmo Cricket DeLovely 6 x 6 pad.

Mojo Monday 149
I have never participated in a Mojo Monday sketch before, but while my daughter and I were watching Dora, we were coloring some MFT images - she colored hers with markers and crayola colored pencils, in the beautiful way a 4 year old does. She was so excited to be doing it with mummy! This is fairly true to the original sketch which you can see here
So the image is from MFT - Pure Innocence line - love those stamps:) The paper and punches I used were mostly StampinUp, except for the green polk-a-dot paper which is old Creative Memories. I colored with my Prismacolor pencils, and used baby oil to blend the colors. This is only the second time I have used them, so i am still feeling it out. Thanks for looking :)

Another Frame
Yesterday was such a busy crafting day! I ended up making tons of stuff! this is one of the frames I made. it is for my nephews. They just started sharing a room.
Isn't it cute? I used Robotz for the font - love that cartridge! The images are from a variety of cartridges. The car is from Disney's Cars - Elmo is from Sesame street friends - the book and ball from EDPD - the monkeys from Create a Critter - I think that's it.
It was fun to make and didn't take too long. Now my daughter wants one :) I guess I will have to do that one fairly soon. I hope to have another card to share later today, my daughter and I are enjoying a "Jamma Day" - we are currently watching Dora :) What more could you want?

You Are Stronger Than This
I was drawn to the red/yellow/black colour combo again last night. I love these colours together and the funny thing is that those are probably the three colours I used to use the least....ha!
As I was cruising my SU! shelf I came across this set called Hard To Say and only ONE of the stamps was mounted. I ended up mounting this sentiment and using it. The others are still sitting there waiting to be put together ;) Another day, right?
This sketch comes from Mercy's MTSC84.
Stamps: Hard to Say; Cardstock: Kraft, Black, Real Red, October Afternoon DP; Inks: Black; Accessories: Rhinestone Flourish, Dimensionals
Today starts the My Time Made Easy Sneak Peeks!! Start by hopping on over to Lauren's blog!

Another Day another Challenge - or two - or three
So I have had a very busy 24 hours of crafting! I made 3 frames - one name frame for my nephews's room and 2 Frames that are actually for family pictures, but I used my Cricut to help decorate the mat within the frame. I have also made 4 different cards. A birthday card, the card I am showing you below, and two other cards that I can't share yet. Not till Friday... can't tell you what they are, but I am excited about them.
Anyway, here is today's card:
So this christmas tree is from Hello Kitty Greetings - i have never cut this tree before, it's cute. I also cut the oval and the shadow on my Gypsy. I think the shadow might have been a bit too big. The paper is either from StampinUp, or my scrap box. The ribbon is StampinUp and so is the Noel Stamp. So here are the challenges I am participating in with this card:
a) Cardz TV - where Mary challenged us to make a card with a Christmas Tree.
b) Cupcake Craft Challenge - Where we were challenged to do a pastel Christmas card. Which was harder than I had expected, honestly :)
c) The Pink Elephant - Where they were doing a sketch challenge. I tend to steer clear of sketches. I love the idea of them, but they often don't come together the way I see them in my head. i am fairly happy with this one.
I hope you come back tomorrow to see the name frame I made for my nephews. I may even try to sqeeze in another challenge :)

Zoo Baby
I have discovered recently that I love to make frames as gifts. I made a couple over the years as presents for my son's teachers, but made this one as a baby shower gift for a dirlfriend at work. I just think it is so cute! I am considering making one today for my nephew's room. His birthday is tomorrow. I guess I will have to run to Walmart to get a frame :)
So this frame uses Robotz for the font - I LOVE that font!! And Create a Critter for the wagon and the animals. I got the idea for this cute little animal train from a card Momo made a few months ago. You can see her sweet card HERE Isn't it adorable? You should spend some time checking out her blog. I get tons of inspiration from her!
As per usual I have been hopping around the web looking for challenges, ever since I started playing along with Emma and Momo I have become addicted to them! So, here are the challenges I am using this little frame for:
a) Fantabulous Cricut - The challenge was to make a zoo project.
b)Paper Cutz Challenge - The challenge this week was to create a project with wheels.
I have lots of crafting to do before my vacation is over, so I will be back with more projects tommorow, or maybe even later today.

As Soon As I Finish This Chapter
Gosh I hear that phrase EVERY night when it's time for Chloe to go to bed....lol
Today is her 11th birthday and I've put one of these bookmarks into a book along with a Chapters Gift Card.
The funny thing is that she helped design these by choosing the papers ;)
Just another quick and easy project that used up scraps.
I attached the paper to the bookmark and then trimmed it from the other side.
The flower was created with the PTI flower die. LOVE that die!
I have today off work to spend it with Chloe for her birthday! Here's hoping for some fabulous weather!

July Red Hat Outing
July's Red Hat outing was a full day touring Sparta and surrounding area. The Sparta Mercantile ,
an old fashioned store full of bric a brac and wonderful candles ,
English style lunch at the Sparta House Tea room,I enjoyed shepherds pie.
The owners collection of tea pots,lines the tea room walls;
Peter Robson artist shop, several of his prints I am lucky to have;
visit to Winter Wheat, an art and rustic shop with interesting gardens , note the broom garden , who would think of making people out of old brooms? very whimsical.
and finally a visit to Lavender Blue,m second lavender farm this summer.
This was my favourite stop, a wonderful garden of lavender laid out in a parterre and a beginning knot garden, a cute shop full of lavender products. Here are a few I bought, lavender sachet( perfumes my walk in closet, lavender clothes dryer bags(linens smell of fresh taken out of the dryer), lavender soap, raspberry and lavender jam and an apple lavender compote(both taste tested and so good) .
Another wonderful day out. Retirement is fun..

One more Disney layout...
... with *gasp* stickers. Our kids loved visiting Underwater Adventure Aquarium on our March Break! They jokingly called out all the "Nemo" names as we passed these fish.
Sorry about the flash. I just finished this and need to post before midnight to be entered at Disney Scrapping.

Disney Challenge
I found a Disney challenge last week that I couldn't pass up. The challenge was to create a project with some type of Disney aspect. To read about it, click here. I have been busy putting all of my Disney World layouts into albums. When I put together my 2006 album, I realized that I was missing an intro page to Magic Kingdom. So I sat down with my Gypsy and designed this...
I really intended an making an intro page but I just got too carried away with welding Mickey heads onto everything. My kids truly love searching high and low for hidden Mickeys and would often spot ones that I hadn't even noticed.

Another late one!!
So my sense of time has been a mess since I went to the cottage. It is so easy to lose track of the days when you have no deadlines, work to go to, or appointments to keep! I had always planned to join an Under the Sea challenge over on Lauren's blog 40:31 Creations I have no idea when I thought the deadline was, but I missed it. Fortunately for people like me, she extended it by a day, till tonight! Yay me! Here is the card I designed while I was at the cottage - gotta love the Gypsy :)
This little mermaid was designed with Once Upon a Princess. The shell, which I welded on my Gypsy, is from Create a Critter. It is one of the Accessories on that cartridge. The paper is a mix of SU and stuff from my scrap boxes. The sentiment is from My Pink Stamper... love her stamps.
I had so much fun creating this little card, and I am really happy that Lauren extended her first challenge for time deficient people like me :) I can't wait to participate in another one!

PTI Bookmarks
Yesterday afternoon while cooling off in the basement I decided to play with my newest PTI stamps and dies.
This first one I made using the All Booked Up stamp set. I made this one for the young man next door. He really likes to read.
