Welcome to the Stocking Stuffer blog hop featuing the Queens from Paper Playtime! If you have arrived here from my talented friend Sharon's blog, then you are in the right spot! If you just stumbled across us, then be sure to start back at Paper Playtime and be inspired by all we have created for you.
I came up with 2 different projects. One of them is geared for adults and the other for kids. I will show you guys the adult one first - and fair warning, there are a TON of pictures in this post...
A few weeks ago, I came up with the above card. The stamp is Sacred Silhouette from Stampendous, and the sentiment is from Cornish Heritage Farm stamps Christmas Expression, they are stamped in Versa Mark and embossed in gold. It uses very vanilla, old olive, mellow moss and brushed gold fom Stampin Up. I loved how this card came out, and started thinking that it would make a great gift, it I put it in a set with some other cards. So, that is what I did :)
Isn't this stamp stunning? It is from The Stamp Barn and the Noel stamp is from Stampin Ups Many Merry Messages. The paper used is very vanilla, mellow moss, and always artichoke (I apparently ran out of old olive), along with brushed gold, those are the colors I used for all of the cards.
These stamps are from a Stampin Up set. It is called Madonna and Child. I think the gold embossing highlights the beautiful simplicity of this stamp.
The image on this stamp is from another Stampin Up set called Heavenly Peace. It was the first Christmas stamp I ever bought. I think it is gorgeous. The sentiment is also from Cornish Farm Stamps Christmas Expressions.
Yet another stunning stamp set from Stampin Up. This one is Solemn Stillness. I wanted it for a couple of years, and finally bought it when it was discontinued. I have never regretted that purchase. You will notice that this is the only "non-religious" card in the group, but I think it fits beautifully with this set of cards, especially with the sentiment "the world in solemn stillness lay..."
The final card uses the Stampin Up set City of David. I have never quite figured out the right way to use this stamp set, but I think I like what I came up with here. the sentiment is from Christmas Expressions by Cornish Farm Stamps - what a useful purchase that turned out to be :)
I made a little box to hold my card set. I got the instructions from the ever brilliant Momo. You can find those instructions HERE.
Here is a pic of the box closed with the belly band. It beautifully fits all 6 cards and envelopes to go along with them. I think it makes a great gift, and I bought NOTHING for this project. I used only what I had on hand at home.
My second project, is a gift for my son. I made him a little coupon book, with some "prizes" that are meaningful to him. Here it is:
The green paper is cut at 3.75" x 4.5" using George and Basic Shapes. the white backgroun is 1/4 inch smaller than the green cover. The title is cut out of Cuttin' Up at 1".
The burger and fries are from Every Day Paper Dolls, cut at 1", with the real dial size on. The "coupon" is cut at 3.5" x 4.25" from George and Basic Shapes.
The animals are from Animal Kingdom, using the "head" feature cut at 1". The coupon stamp is from a Stampin Up set called Create a Coupon. Love it!!
The dice is from Indie Art, also at 1". Gotta love the freebie download for Gypsy owners, or I would never have had this cartridge. Thanks Provo Craft :)
The hockey skates are from EDPD, cut at 1" with the real dial size on.
The books are also from EDPD (I think), also at 1" and also with the real dial size on.
The cute ticket is from Mickey and Friends, cut at 1" - shocking, I know...
The bike is cut at 1" from Going Places, a cartirdge I have never used before - terrible, I know...
The final page has more little heads from Animal Kingdom, once agin cut at 1".
I used a perforating blade for my Creative Memories trimmer to cut a little edge on the coupon - that way Andrew can eaily tear off the coupon when he want to use it. I then used my Cropodile to punch holes in it and secured it all with 2 brads. Cute eh? Now I just have to make one for my daughter...
This is another project that cost me nothing to make, I just used the scraps that were in my craft room, cartridges I already had, and a stamp set I have rarely used. I love projects like that `:)
