I hope this isn't right because the closest location would be more than 20 miles away from me.

The Magic Trackpad rules. Love it. Don't even use the mouse. It seems like you have to move the mouse so far to get it across the screen and with the Magic Trackpad its just gets you around the screen faster.
I guess it's great, except for 1 thing.
Gaming.

When I look at the graphic (http://developer.apple.com/wwdc/) for the 2011 WWDC, it makes me think that the 3D rumor may be accurate. Note the many 3D patents that Apple has been awarded over the past couple of years for precisely this type of thing. And the fact that Apple has used their graphics on prior occasions to tease what would be revealed at the event - most recently, for the iPad2 and how they teased the SmartCover...
I dont know if 3D is dependent on hardware (most of Apples products have front facing cameras at this point at least), or if it can be driven by software alone on existing devices.
Thoughts?

Oh wow the iPod sync feature is great, I've wanted to be able to not have it load everything. This is maybe the best feature ever for iTunes.

I like when Apple doesn't announce something, i like surprises.
One thing will Apple ever make a larger LCD display, or they will stay with the 30" for a while.
Seeing the iMac 24", instead of 23". Seems like Apple upto something.

I'm sure you're correct but I'm confused as to what results to believe.
I'm now using istat Pro, Temperature Monitor and Core2Duotemp. All are saying the same thing.
See the screen grab below.
If I put the machine under stress it does go up to 50 or 60 degrees but generally, it's saying around 21 when idle.
Mine used to get stuck at low temperatures like that. It's a glitch in the CPU's measuring stuff.
Download the latest version of smcFanControl. It has a temperature reading, but uses a sensor on the logic board rather than the one on/in the CPU. I get a more accurate temperature now. With my minimum fan speed at 2500rpm, I get idle of around 46C. and gets up to about 77/78C when pushed, but of the course the fan kicks in then and keeps it in check.
I'm also curious about some people likening the fan in the MB to a jet engine. As mine spins up, i can hear a faint whine that sounds a bit like a jet engine, but as it gets faster, all I hear is the 'woosh' of air.

Agreed. Recipe for sucess:
Click.
Enter credit card information.
Get on with life.
Sign for package when it arrives in about three weeks.
Enjoy your new device.
The delays were actually a good thing for me. Gave me time to "cool off"
I'm with you on every point, except the cooling off period.
Now that Apple's quality control had tanked, I know that there's a great likelihood ill get a bad one and the return game will begin.
Even though I have an Apple store nearby, I buy BTO, so I'm stuck with what has become "The Crap Shoot, Gambling The Apple Way".

Additionally, for the average person (who cannot read Hebrew and is not familiar with Jewish history and doctrine) it could be difficult to see the trinity in the old testament.
I'm a bit confused. How exactly does the context of the Old Testament point to a triune god? I've done a lot of academic study of the Tanakh in general, and Second Temple Judaism in particular, and I'm at a loss to where in Jewish orthodoxy the idea of a triune god exists.

And now let the angry "I still can't even find one to buy!" rants.
I'm very amused by this and would love to have been a fly on the wall at Apple when this was all discussed.
I agree, it would also have been fun to see the look in the face of the couple when they got their free iPad. What a great PR move.

I thought Toys R Us sold cheap plastic toys for kids. I'm obviously mistaken.
Times have changed. Then again, They've always sold electronics. I remember getting stuff there for my Commodore64 back in the 80s.

I think we're a bit fooled by the "Toys" in Toys R US.
"Toy" is also a pretty subjective term.
This was my winter "toy" when I was younger:

Why? Samsung has manufactured their products in Korea. Their employees get more pay and benefits than average Americans. iPhone could be $615 vs $599 but I can pay a little more for iPhone assembled In USA.
Samsung may manufacture their products in Korea, but that doesn't mean every component for a phone, for example, is built in Korea. Korea may be the place for the phone to be put together, but its LCD, battery, etc might be built elsewhere and imported into Korea. For Korea (and I'm not entirely sure), the country might have laxed policies on imports and whatnot making final production cheaper than it needs to be, making the product cheaper to sell, and higher margins of profit --> pay better wages, etc.
For America, that may not be the case. Too many laws and regulations for everything made by our self-interested Congress members.
Oh, I hope everything you buy is not made abroad. Please, only buy the more expensive product to ensure you aren't buying a non-made U.S product (including its components) =).

Why would you want to download instead of using iTunes. It will download and install the right update file for each device. No worries. Based on the varying file sizes being reported here, there are obviously different builds for each device.
It takes 20 mins + per download so if I can update both ipads using the same download that saves 30 mins or so of my night. Done one ipad, downloading iphone software now, then going to try second ipad (the missus' one!).

I also think that whoever has the remaining rights to this material realise that its shelf-life is almost up. In 5-10 years time, the broad appeal of much of this material may have less relevance to the average consumer and its perceived market-value may be far less.
That's not a comment on the merits of The Beatles' music; just my view based on many of the comments I read by what I am assuming are younger music listeners.
I'm 43, many of these songs are ingrained into my memory from childhood, but the only Beatles albums I would possibly be interested in are maybe 2-4 remastered CDs; I'm not interested in downloads at all. But to be honest, I don't feel that by not currently owning them that my music collection is lacking at all.
I don't know about that. I'm young and I love the Beatles. They may decrease in popularity, but I don't expect them to go away ever. Also, it is still quite common for popular artists to cover Beatles songs. Just do a search for some songs on iTunes.
Beethoven and Mozart aren't the most popular artists on the charts today, but their music is still very well known and loved. I expect the Beatles to be known and loved in 100 years. Practically everybody would recognize the opening of Beethoven's fifth, even if they didn't know it was the fifth or that it was written by Beethoven. The Beatles may not reach that level, but their music will be around. They are the most popular artists of this century.

To an unbeliever, a person is born morally neutral. Their actions can only be graded on the basis of how others are impacted, because "good" and "bad" often change drastically based on one's perspective.
I think what you said is very interesting and insightful. I have a big problem with the concept of original sin, or that people need saving in some way.
If I could just pick out some small thing?
I'm not sure everyone is born strictly neutral. There is a lot of evidence to show morality is, in part, evolutionary. I'm not saying people are born to be automatically wonderful, but if there was no structured society people would not all become mass murderers. Therefore I'd say people (with a few exceptions) are born with very basic morality already in place. However, upbringing and society can add or detract from this.
Of course, this is viewed by a modern standard, and as you suggested- what is "good" and what is "bad" without a standard to judge it by? My head hurts!

Well, I certainly have a "problem" with the notion that a publicly funded military needs to be maintained in order to protect privately owned enterprises, who by their own free will have set up operations in foreign countries, often at the expense of American jobs.
Amen.
And no matter how mighty our military, it seems irrelevant when the commercial interests are in stable, sovereign nations. In unstable nations, we really have no business injecting our military on account of this notion, unless part of a larger peacekeeping force.*
*Please note that I am suggesting that the peacekeeping force should require our participation as an equal member of a team - the peacekeeping force should not be an afterthought solely used for validating an American military action.
