Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez have decided to “cool off” their romance after Selena caught wind of Justin text messaging his old girlfriend.

MTV is reporting today that Selena Gomez was in tears after confronting her guy, Justin, who denied this at first. Justin was caught text messaging Jasmine Villegas, his ex-love interest.

Selena was heartbroken, even more so when Justin denied that he was in contact with Jasmine, only to come clean later. Selena told Justin that their romance is done, but they will remain friends. Although Selena has cut it off with the singing Bieber wonder, she has left the door open for a reconciliation.

Bieber fans are a very territorial group, when Justin and Selena first came out as a couple, the fans sent death threats to Selena. When the two appeared together in pictures at an awards ceremony party, the threats got worse.

Bieber fans did the same to Kim Kardashian when Justin jokingly referred to Kim as his “girlfriend” on his Twitter page. He had to get back on Twitter and ask them to back down from Kim, and convey to them that they were just friends.

The 17 year old Bieber and the 18 year old Gomez, have been dating for about six months, or at least this is how long the public was aware of them as a couple. As with any other break up story, this could be just a rumor.

Justin, who is on tour in Europe, recently tweeted about one of the venues he was appearing at not having any seats for the fans. It was all standing. This appeared to worry the boy crooner a bit because he knows only too well how excited his fans can get. His concerns were for his fan’s safety.

With fans all having a seat, it would be more orderly. Without seats, fans can all rush in closer to the stage, creating a dangerous situation in a crowd. People can get trampled with fans pushing closer to the front of the house. At least with seats, the fans need to stay in them and everyone has enough space around them. Biebers concerns were very mature for a 17 year old pop star!

The Gossip Cop website is reporting that they investigated the story that Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are split and have found this not to be true. They maintain there is no love triangle going on with Justin, Selena, and Justin’s old flame?

The two looked like they were going to go in for a kiss, but they fooled everyone by simply shaking hands! Justin took the mic and said: "Selena, nice to meet you, I'm Justin. You're very beautiful, maybe we can go out sometime." The crowd actually let out a collective sigh, which could've been disappointment or relief. Hard to tell.

These two were a big story from the show, and so was Lady Gaga. She performed her new single "Edge of Glory" in a green wig on the stage made to look New York City then she closed the show with "Born This Way." Her last performance was quite epic: She was "born" out of a cocoon and apparently rocked a green wig AND green armpit hair! So that's what Lady Gaga thought of next...
