Bloomin Tuesday May 3rd

With spring  hard pressed to make an appearance in south west Ontario  the garden is slowly    showing a bit of colour....... With the cold and damp days  the bulbs are lasting  a very long time....

Windflowers are putting a  good show .

Scillas mixed with Icicle pansies are  staying fresh looking..

Up close and personal with the delicate scilla flower....

This spring we are  very lucky if we have one  sunny day in 7.. rain rain and more rain . Temps are staying well below normal ... I would usually be planting  by now  so far the only thing in the ground is sweet peas and not a sign of them yet.... Could it possibly be too cold and damp for them?
Knowing this part of the country  we will probably end up with     no spring and move right into  summer with temperatures soaring.
As  gardener I am eternally optimistic.
