    755.53 is a GREAT PRICE!!!!

Aaah my ibook G4 12" 800Mhz dies last week (HD failure) and my Powerbook G4 12" 1.33 has only 256MB ram and runs slooowly.

I've got the money know to buy one but originally I have been saving up for a Mac Pro after MWSF '07.

What do to - what to do???

yeah, I just purchased that one with burgundy bag :)

Was going to get the black as it would have been similar priced when you upgrade the white version to 120gb. But 100+ for an extra 40gb isn't worth it

While there's some positive link between Mac-usage and intellect, you shouldn't take that information as meaning that posting on a Mac Forum gets you any intellect points.

So far, you've added nothing but focusing on the messenger. Which is typical, if knowledge about the topic of discussion is superficial at best.

    For all to see.

Sleep tight under your Beatles blanket, son.

    Brilliant.

What do you want me to say that people haven't already voiced?

That The Beatles have received 7 Grammy Awards and 15 Ivor Novello Awards.

That they have been awarded 6 Diamond albums, as well as 24 Multi-Platinum albums, 39 Platinum albums and 45 Gold albums in the United States and in the UK they have 4 Multi-Platinum albums, 4 Platinum albums, 8 Gold albums and 1 Silver album?

The fact that you can just dismiss them is laughable but hey i don't want to upset you anymore than i have.

Oh and stop calling me son.

From one human rights disaster to another.

I'd pay more for a product Made in America that is contributing to our growing economy and feeding starving, hard working Americans.

No you would not. Don't fool yourself.

Made in USA is becoming something from the past. Americans need to come to the forefront of innovation and technology. Labor is always cheaper in countries like Brazil and China.
Americans want to pay Walmart prices so that to happen these products need to be made elsewhere.
An iPad "made in USA" would probably cost twice.

Well, the keynote had me there for a second with the whole “52% smaller” thing ;) but now that it has been clarified, I still think this is a solid update for the nanos – lower prices, higher capacities, more colors, 24 hour battery life – it’s all good.

makes it obvious that over 50% of the people on the Apple forums were and are blinded by only being able to "see the future" in terms of the past.

When I saw the iPod, I bought APPL stock at $20/share. It is now by far my biggest stock holding in terms of $$$.

Just had to check it: iPod was released Oct 23rd 2001 for $399. Assuming 8.25% sales tax that would be $431.92. That bought 23.8 AAPL shares at the closing prices of $18.14. There was a split, so you would have 47.6 shares worth $330.67 at close on March 18th, for a total of $15,740.

I conclude that all those people buying iPods had not the slightest clue how the Apple share price would develop :D

    From http://blog.washingtonpost.com/securityfix/2006/08/followup_to_macbook_post.html
    quote
During the course of our interview, it came out that Apple had leaned on Maynor and Ellch pretty hard not to make this an issue about the Mac drivers -- mainly because Apple had not fixed the problem yet. Maynor acknowledged that he used a third-party wireless card in the demo so as not to draw attention to the flaw resident in Macbook drivers. But he also admitted that the same flaws were resident in the default Macbook wireless device drivers, and that those drivers were identically exploitable. And that is what I reported. end quote

    Watch what you connect to!

NOT! Are you serious??? - some guy writes in his blog that Apple was leaning heavily on him not to point out the problems with apples drives. Wow - it's on the internet it must be true. Oh wait - it that were right I'd have a true video iPod, a PB G5, an iPhone, and a 12 GB Nano in my ownership right now.

Give me a break - it's a blog for crying out loud - it's about as accurate as MacOSRumors.

Also, as pointed out on page 3 (I think) - the latest security update fixes this vulnerability - even tho it's still a 3rd party USB driver and I don't believe for 1 second that he used a 3rd party card out of respect for apple's wishes...

The Apple Tax has gotten out of control.

Im tired of Toshiba/Dell/HP making systems with far superior specs, at 30% less than Apple.

    I beg to differ.

The Apple Tax has not gotten 'out of control'.
Apple has always maintained a 30% profit margin
Therefore the tax has ALWAYS been about 25%.

Well, if you are not getting hardware with that money what are you getting?

Does Mac OSX have no value to you?
Could it be worth more than Windows?
    A lot more?

Frankly, shouldn't Toshiba/Dell/HP be charging A LOT MORE?
    They wish.

Except China is like a plague of locusts consuming raw materials. All of the coal, petroleum, steel, concrete, etc. they are importing is coming from somewhere else, and procuring these things has negative environmental impact for where theyre sourced.

Because before China, no other country in the world with factories EVER sourced raw materials from other countries.

If countries in Africa, the Middle East, and elsewhere weren't mining, growing, and extracting materials for factories in China, they'd be sourcing materials for factories in India, America, Europe, South Asia, Japan, Korea, or elsewhere. Unfortunately these countries tend to have weak or corrupt governments that don't care about environmental degradation or can't do anything meaningful about it.

Maybe countries with factories that source raw materials from other countries have a responsibility to help those other countries develop mechanisms to protect their environment. But I've yet to see this happen on a meaningful scale anywhere.

    Second.

Although... it could have just been fans who already owned pirated copies deciding that they liked the Beatles so much that they should legally download it.

I do that sometimes if I like something a lot and regret having pirated it.

So, if you steal something from the store, and feel guilty about it later, do you sneak in and try to put it back on the shelf? Just curious.

The battery is paired with the computer - e.g. one battery goes with the computer serial (don't need to enter that battery serial, it matches up with the computer) and a spare uses its own.

unfortunately that's not true; the web app requires you to enter the battery serial as well... even though it is probably paired with the laptop's serial.

I'm happy it's working for you, but that doesnt mean they were problem free.

The rest is your opinion, not fact.... But since you like the iPhone 4 your opinion must count more then mine right?

Yes your right... Me saying it's a POS negates any opinion I have. Why didn't I see that?

Oh right. Cause a lot of people agree. And it's important. And I want the iPhone 5 soon, so I can rid myself of the 3GS, and hear from all you fanbois that IT is the best phone eva omgwtf everyone has to agree or they don't know what they are talking abot!!!!!!

It's really not nearly as big a deal as you are making it, maybe calm down a bit?

funny you are the one basically calling people out for hurt feelings yet you are showing much, much more emotion in your opinion.

Yes using wild hyperbole does in fact degrade the chances of people taking what you say seriously. It doesn't mean your opinion doesn't "count", it just means it isn't much worth listening to.

Whatever your real opinion is, you are posting with the emotion of a teenager. I've got no bones to pick with your decision not to get a new iphone. You seem angry at someone, dont know who that is.

No matter, I could care less. Grab a beer or get laid or something.

My girlfriend is having a field-day. Being a Dell fan-girl, I was like nyahhhh your laptop's gonna explode.

Gotta watch out where you apply that schadenfreude. It often comes back to bite you in the end!

That's exactly how I felt when I first heard about Dell's big safety recall, knowing it was a matter of time before Apple followed suit because of their own extensive use of Sony batteries.

My girlfriend is also a Windows user, but she's no fan-girl. She says her ThinkPad T43 will be her last PC. :)

After many beautiful years together, the time has finally come to part ways with my PowerBook. I've put her through some tough times, especially during university and now the power lead is cracked, the screen latch it broken so she doesn't go to sleep, the graphics card is fried so there are weird lines and artifacts on the screen, the palm rest looks like I took an angle grinder to it and its not attached to the case properly, the 3rd party battery is rubbish the button doesn't click properly.

I've been saving up like crazy for a new MBP with planned after sales upgrades etc, and I'm going crazy here!

    Just UPDATE PUUURRRRRLLEEEEAAAASSSSEEE!:(

Which Apple Store did you try, there is more than one in ATL.

Lenox Mall one in Buckhead. Here without a car, so it has to be something I can Marta to. I got there early this morning and the sign was already up that they were out of stock for the day.

If you have an idea where I could look let me know. I'd love a 64 gig black ATT ready Ipad2. Many coworkers have either the original or the newer iPad and I'm ready to hop on that train.
